It was made clear at the nomination meeting in the basement of Chateau Neuf in Majorstua on Tuesday evening. The Green Party thus clears space for the party leadership at the top of the Oslo list. MDG currently has three seats in the Storting after the party ended up below the threshold with a margin of less than 2,000 votes at the last election. Two of them sit on the Oslo bench; deputy leader Lan Marie Berg and party veteran Rasmus Hansson. Both have declined re-election. Now leader Arild Hermstad (57) and deputy leader Ingrid Liland (34) will be number one and two in Oslo. Liland and Berg are currently equal vice-chairmen. Hermstad is from Bergen, but has lived at Bøler in Oslo for the past 23 years. He also sits on the Oslo City Council. Ingrid Liland is from Rørvik in the former Nord-Trøndelag. Both were unanimously elected. NUMBER TWO: Deputy leader of the Green Party, Ingrid Liland. But with today’s nomination, he is guaranteed a seat in the Storting in the next term. He says that MDG has clear ambitions to break the barrier of 4 per cent, and that MDG will get a large group and a decisive tipping point. – Now we must mobilize our large green movement and break the barrier next year in order to take Norway safely out of oil, stop the loss of nature and free ourselves from the overconsumption that creates alienation and ecological collapse, says MDG’s new list top in Oslo. Bastholm in Akershus MDG’s third parliamentary representative today is former party leader Une Bastholm. She represents Akershus, where she is set to take first place also in the upcoming elections.
