Here the driver is almost hit by a giant rock in Gudvangen – news Vestland

– It was a bit disgusting. It’s probably about ten centimetres, says Anders Kjeldsen. On Wednesday morning, a large rock fell on the E16 in Gudvangen. Seconds before, Kjeldsen got a kind of premonition when he saw the treetops rustle in his side view and “the forest lay down”. Then he started to slow down. – I drive this stretch often, and am aware that he is prone to racing. So I was in a way forewarned, he says. Kjeldsen works with transporting stone to Gudvangen, and has around 20 daily trips back and forth in the landslide-prone area. He acknowledges that he was lucky, but takes the incident in stride and has not allowed himself to be affected beyond that. – Has the experience made a dent in you? – No, you can’t think like that. Then you cannot drive in the west country. Six different landslides In addition to the rockfall that nearly hit Kjeldsen, there were also a number of other landslides in Gudvangen on the same day. In total, there were reports of six different landslides and weather problems for vegans: Aurland: E16 in Gudvangen Aurland: Gudvangen-Bakka, at the Gudvangen ferry dock Aurland: The road to Undredal Aurland: The road to Skjerdal Øvre Årdal: A landslide has crossed a footpath in Tronteigen In addition, the river has overflowed its banks in Bordalsvegen in Voss.
