Over two years have passed since the mother of two, Heidi Flood, was killed in Skien. The trial against a 42-year-old woman was to start on Tuesday at 09:00 in Telemark District Court. On Monday morning, however, the prosecution confirmed that the trial has been postponed indefinitely. The 42-year-old woman, who for a time lived with Flood, is accused of having killed her with several stab wounds. – After a closer assessment, the prosecution has decided that some further investigative steps will be taken in the case before the main hearing, writes state attorney Helene Holtvedt in an e-mail to news. At the weekend, the parties were notified that the case has been postponed indefinitely. Holtvedt writes that she will not go into more detail about what investigations are involved, but that any findings will be presented to the court. – Beyond that, the prosecution has no further comments now, writes Holtvedt. Photo: Håkon Lie / news – Got no justification The 42-year-old’s defender, lawyer Tollef Skobba, reacts to the postponement coming at the last minute. – I was called by the state attorney late on Friday and received no justification for the postponement until Saturday evening, says Skobba to news. He has been given a duty of confidentiality by the state attorney and therefore cannot say what kind of information has now emerged. At the end of last week, the lawyer was also made aware that a witness in another murder case has given information about who killed Heidi Flood. However, Skobba cannot comment on whether this information is connected to the postponement. Great disagreement about the killer When Flood was found murdered, the 42-year-old was arrested shortly afterwards. But her 26-year-old boyfriend was also charged with having participated in the murder. Both have admitted to being at Flood’s house when she died. The 42-year-old also admitted to having killed Flood, but she later retracted the admission. The ex-boyfriend is now completely out of the police spotlight and will only be a witness in the trial. In the period leading up to the indictment this summer, there has been great disagreement between the police and the state attorney about the role he has had. In the house were a 40-year-old woman and her boyfriend, a 26-year-old man. The woman is charged with murder and the man is charged with complicity in murder. The woman admits in questioning that she killed Heidi Flood. The woman retracts her confession and puts all the blame on her then-boyfriend. The woman says it was he who killed Flood in the bathroom with a knife. The police spend a long time investigating the case and in the end the 26-year-old is out of the case. The woman is being prosecuted alone for the murder. The case will be heard in the Telemark district court for almost three weeks.
