1 September 2023 at 09:45 The fluoride testing is in full swing – from “unsafe” to “much safer” in 14 months The test regime to reveal the use of fluoride products in skiing is about to meet expectations, according to lubrication expert Stein Olav Snesrud. It was in March that the International Ski Federation (FIS) and the International Biathlon Union (IBU) announced that there will be a complete ban on the use of fluorine-containing lubrication products from the coming season. – They (FIS) have done a lot with the software over the past year. I feel much safer now (than a year ago), says Snesrud to NTB. He is employed as a fluoride-free coordinator in the ski association in connection with the FIS decision and was previously lubrication manager for the national cross-country teams. – There is a big difference between the concept now and what they started with.
