Heavy fire in a kindergarten in Trondheim – news Trøndelag – Local news, TV and radio

– It has burned quite badly, it is so bad that it will not be possible to use the nursery, says Kåre Peder Norvik, duty manager in the 110 central. The emergency services reported a fire at Sverresborg kindergarten in Trondheim at 1.55am. – At most we had 20 people working on site, says Norvik. Difficult to get to The cause of the fire is still not known. When the fire brigade arrived at the scene last night, the roof of the nursery was said to have been fully engulfed in flames. – The fact that the fire has been on the roof has made it difficult to access the flames. There have been linings in the construction that have made it difficult for us to get to the core of the fire, says Norvik. Among other things, the fire brigade has used a chainsaw to get to the flames on the roof. The roof of the nursery is open. – There is both smoke and water damage at the nursery. It is therefore not possible to use the nursery until Monday, says Norvik. A lot of smoke The police stated early on that there was no need to evacuate residential units in the area, but there was a lot of smoke in the area in connection with the fire. The police had then been to nearby homes and encouraged the closing of windows and doors. Much of the smoke also moved downwards towards the city centre. – It is no longer necessary to close the windows, the smoke is now gone, says Norvik. It was not until just before 4.30 that the 110 central confirmed that the fire was under control. Throughout the night and into the early morning, the fire brigade worked to extinguish the fire. They left the place at 6.45. – Now it is the police who have taken over the scene of the accident, says Norvik. Published 29.06.2024, at 08.07 Updated 29.06.2024, at 09.17
