“Have you been to Turkey?” – news Sport – Sports news, results and broadcasting schedule

– I think it’s a bit silly because it seems like it’s a bit taboo. Because when you have a nose operation, the first thing people wonder about is; Have you been to Turkey?, laughs Bayern Munich pro Tuva Hansen. But it is far from the beauty that is the reason why the German pro from Bryne has spent 14 days of the summer holiday going under the knife. – I have always struggled with a lot of sinus infections. I always have to go on antibiotics if I get a bit of a cold, because I always get a sinus infection afterwards. The 26-year-old made a minor intervention against the problem when she was 18. But it didn’t help much. During covid, when the football pro, like everyone else, had to test himself, the doctor discovered that not everything was as it should be. – I didn’t have room for the air to come through, so we took a couple of tests and then I was sent on to an ear-nose-throat doctor. Breathing normally for the first time HOSPITAL: The operation was carried out in a hospital in Munich, where Hansen usually lives. Photo: Privat / And when the football holiday came this year, it was straight to the operating table for a long-planned operation on the nose. Rhinoplasty is often used to correct crooked noses or for those who want to change their appearance. For Hansen, it was about opening up the airways. – The operation was fine and I had no pain for the first two days. But on days three and four, the sinuses were whole, yes. It was so crowded in there and I had a lot of headache. She therefore had to take out the two large splinters that were inside her nose two days before the appointment. Then the sinuses loosened too much and the tears rolled. – And it was quite extreme, because then I was able to breathe completely normally for the first time in my life. It’s almost like you get high on it. It was a very strange feeling. The Norwegian defender still has a plaster over his nose, but should be ready to play when the national team gathers on Sunday. As the nasal bone has not been operated on, she should be able to play without a mask. Although she has spent large parts of her holiday on this operation, she thinks it has been worth it. – Goes on a high in the past, flights have been a nightmare for Hansen. The congested sinuses have caused great pain due to the pressure in the cabin. Photo: Beate Oma Dahle / NTB – On the flight home, I make myself sit and smile completely out of the blue. People who see me must think that I’m just like that… Yes, what are you doing? It was a really strange feeling. I feel like I’m on a high, that is. I am so overjoyed that half would be enough. Until now, Hansen has compensated by breathing through his mouth. She is still excited about what it will be like to play football again with free airways through the nose. – I don’t know if it’s just a placebo, but I only feel when I jog that I feel light in my body. I don’t get so hot in the head when it’s hot outside, so I’m curious if that has anything to do with it. I’ve had two weeks off now, so I’m in surprisingly good shape. Higher risk of injury The operation was carried out at a hospital in Germany under the auspices of her club Bayern Munich. In Norway she had been told that a second operation was not advisable, but in Germany it went perfectly well. In addition, it fits well that there is no championship this summer. SINUS: After a lifetime of clogged sinuses, it has become a new weekday for Tuva Hansen. Photo: Private / Photo – So then I actually had time to spend. I probably spent two weeks of my holiday on this. But it was worth it. Håvard Løseth is a specialist at the Bogstadveien ear-nose-throat clinic – As long as she has a good indication for performing nasal surgery on a functional basis, it can be reasonable, and not a problem. He emphasizes that it can be foolish to carry out such an operation while one is still an active athlete. – If new injuries occur, the nose tolerates less and there is a higher risk of new injuries, Løseth told news. And for those who wondered – even though this was a nose operation – the 26-year-old did not use the operation to change his nose itself. – No, firstly it had cost too much money and secondly I was very satisfied with my nose in the first place. So that was one of the first things I asked – if this would change my face. It is good to know before you undergo surgery.
