31 January 2023 at 12:22 Committee: – Have to live further away to get commuter accommodation The limit for who can get commuter accommodation will be moved from 40 to 50 kilometres, if the majority of the Representative Arrangements Committee gets approval for its proposals. The committee submitted its report to the Storting on Tuesday. When it comes to business trips, the representatives must be at least 50 kilometers from their place of residence to be entitled to hotel accommodation and diet, the committee suggests. The committee is divided when it comes to severance pay and retirement benefits. The majority will merge the schemes. They propose remuneration for 3 months. You can then apply for 66 per cent of your salary for up to 6 months, not 12 months as is the case today. The minority will abolish the severance pay scheme, but retain the resignation benefit of 3 months. The Storting shall continue to be responsible for managing the financial arrangements for the representatives of the Storting.
