31 March 2023 at 18:19 Have started evacuation on Reinøya The police have started evacuation on the stretch from Sæterelv and Grøtneselv on Reinøya. The evacuees are moved to the municipality’s gathering place at Finnkroken. The rescue boat “Bergesen DY” contributes where necessary. The lifeboat contributes where necessary. This is reported by the Northern Norway Rescue Center in a press release. Two people have been confirmed dead in the landslide that occurred on Reinøya. – In practice, two searches are currently taking place on Reinøya: an avalanche search on the land side, and a sea search in the wreckage area with a dozen vessels. It is difficult to sail in this area, so a search will be established with a drone or helicopter, the main rescue center states in a press release. The rescue helicopter is in Tromsø for refueling, the police helicopter is in the area. Karlsøy municipality has created its meeting place in Finnkroken.
