13 October 2023 at 10:53 Toppe acknowledges: – Have failed these children A new report from the Norwegian Health Authority shows that eight teenage girls have died during the last five years. All lived in child welfare institutions. – We have not been able to take care of these children’s needs. The services have failed to give the children the services they need, said Minister for Children and Families Kjersti Toppe (Sp) at a press conference today. The report shows that there are clear common denominators between the children. Among other things, all the girls had serious health problems and received mental health care, but this help was lacking. According to the report, the parents of all the girls have also experienced major challenges in dealing with the health services.
