A sheep has lost its way and has been stuck on a mountain side of “Jomannen” in Vestvågøy in Lofoten for four days. Now a group from Raudekrossen is on foot to rescue the sheep. – The sheep has been standing there since Sunday morning. There have been sheep there before too, so to speak, says Ole Andreas Botnevik. He owns the sheep and runs the farm together with Sigrid Eline Botnevik. Tommy Tallaksen, who was informed by a neighbor girl about the lost sheep, sees several searchlights on the slope on the way up. He was the one who got the drone up to see the sheep. – It’s about 200-300 meters up there, but I see they haven’t got there yet, says Tallaksen about those who are on their way to rescue the sheep. So we have people in the Wildlife Board and people who know how to assist with that part, says Ole Andreas Botnevik. Now the couple are hoping that they will get the sheep down alive. – If it doesn’t work tonight, SAR Queen has agreed to do it as a training task as well. – So we have plenty of opportunities, says Ole Andreas Botnevik. Sigrid Eline has told VG that 27 of the sheep were out grazing, when one of them went out to embark on a risky Sunday trip in the mountains. Published 23.10.2024, at 19.28
