Has been banned before the local settlement between Sarpsborg 08 and Fredrikstad – news Østfold – Local news, TV and radio

Four people from Sarpsborg and four people from Fredrikstad have been banned from visiting certain areas around the Sarpsborg stadium on match day. This is confirmed by police attorney John Skarpeid to news. The visiting bans are designed differently for the supporters from the different cities, with the aim of preventing the two groupings from meeting. – We have looked at their history and what they have been involved in before in connection with previous matches. These eight have either previously been punished or have ongoing criminal cases involving violence, says Skarpeid. The ban applies from 4pm to midnight on Saturday. The match between Sarpsborg 08 and Fredrikstad starts at 8pm. Battle in court before kick-off news has seen the decision that has been sent out to one of the Fredrikstad supporters. It states that the person in question is prohibited from staying at and in the immediate vicinity of the Sarpsborg stadium, and in St. Marie gate in the center of Sarpsborg. In the decision, Skarpeid justifies the ban by saying that it is required in the public interest. “There is reason to believe that XX will otherwise commit disturbances that are particularly burdensome for the audience at the football match and especially against groups in the supporter environment”. Police attorney John Skarpeid in the East police district has written the decisions on the restraining order. Five of the supporters have complained about the visiting ban. Four of these, two from Sarpsborg and two from Fredrikstad, have chosen to take the case to court. They will appear in the district court on Thursday and Friday in an attempt to have the restraining order lifted. – I commend the Søndre Østfold District Court for having found space to carry out these trials before the match on Saturday. We are also interested in having this tried in court, says Skarpeid. Three of the supporters have accepted the ban on visitors. The latter does not accept it, but does not want to try the case in court. In 2014, the police won the Supreme Court’s decision to keep the troublemakers away from nightclubs in Lillestrøm and at the Åråsen stadium on match days. Supporter leader against pre-judgment Leader Merethe Sandtangen of Sarpsborg’s supporters club Fossefallet reacts to the way the police have proceeded. – For example, they could have called in a meeting and had a conversation, there are many other solutions they could have chosen instead of imposing a restraining order. It provokes. Merethe Sandtangen is the manager of Fossefallet, the supporters’ club for Sarpsborg 08. Photo: Privat She says that the supporters in question have put in a lot of time and work to help ensure that Saturday’s local match will be a football party for everyone. – I think this triggers more than it soothes. Now they have selected active supporters who help create a great atmosphere at the games. I think it’s sad. These have bought tickets, are looking forward to a football party and have spent countless hours making tifos and planning, she says and adds: – I expect that all of these will appeal the decision. But the battle is over before they have time to process it. This is both prejudgment without being able to defend oneself and also abuse of power! See photos from the previous match: Riots in the first match There is tremendous interest in the match between the two rivals on Saturday. Tickets for the match sold out in less than 20 minutes. When the teams met in April, the match ended 2-2 in dramatic fashion, after Henrik Kjelsrud Johansen equalized for Fredrikstad in overtime. The fight is still best remembered for what happened outside the green carpet. Several people were fined and banned after they threw flares from Sarpsborg’s stand onto the pitch. Sarpsborg 08 was fined NOK 120,000 after the flare throwing. A number of supporters were also told that they would be banned from all matches and events organized by Sarpsborg 08 until further notice.
