In October 2022, Niemann filed a lawsuit against, among others, Carlsen and chess.com. In the interview with Morgan, Niemann was asked if he feels bullied by Carlsen. – Yes, of course he is a bully. He used his entire empire, he used the connections he has in Chess.com and he took advantage of the fact that there was a merger going on. He made all these people attack me. It’s a bully. It is easy. I will not let people bully me, I will stand up to them. I stood up to him and I look forward to competing against him on the board again. I want to do what I do best, says Niemann.
