28 August 2022 at 14:48 Belgian Grand Prix renewed Formula 1 status Just before the Belgian Grand Prix was due to start on Sunday, it became clear that the popular World Cup round in Spa-Franchorchamps will also be run in 2023. The Spa track in Belgium is well-known for its many overtakings and has therefore become a highlight on the Formula 1 calendar for many motorsport enthusiasts. Now Formula 1 has confirmed on Twitter that the track will be seen in the WC next year as well. The leaders in this year’s WC summary, Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc, have made changes to the car ahead of this year’s Grand Prix in Belgium, even though it led to grid penalties and a worse starting position. The choice was made because the WC favorites feel the chances are good to make it up on the fast track in Belgium. Verstappen starts in the 14th best position, with Leclerc in the place behind him.
