It was confirmed by Prime Minister RIshi Sunak’s office on Thursday morning. Shapps is currently the minister responsible for energy security and zero emissions. He is a long-standing member of the government, and has previously been, among other things, Minister of Food and the Interior. British Defense Minister Ben Wallace submitted his letter of resignation earlier today. He was Britain’s Defense Secretary for four years.
