Grace Bullen (27) won gold during the wrestling European Championships in Romania. She thus takes her third EC gold in her career. The stage was set before an even match between Bullen and German Luisa Helga Gerda in the 62-kilogram class. The final started cautiously as neither duelist wanted to take any big chances. However, it was Bullen who started the offensive, and gained the upper hand with the first three points. She then took two more points and led 5–0 with one minute remaining. A little out of the blue, the German came back strongly, and reduced four times in the match. It was still gold for Bullen, who eventually won 5–4. Thus, the 27-year-old could celebrate his third EC gold, the first in the 62-kilogram class. She is also on record with two medals in the WC. She has gold in the 59-kilogram class and a bronze in the 62-kilogram class, both from 2022. Bullen reached the final after beating Veranika Ivanova 6–3 in the semi-finals.
