In Norway, he is perhaps best known for his role in the film Goodfellas, or Mafia brothers in Norwegian. Sorvino starred in a number of films and television series in his more than 50-year career, including Law & Order, Reds and Nixon. He was the father of actress Mira Sorvino who won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in the film Lush Aphrodite in 1995.
