Glimpse with giant strides towards the playoffs – ravaged with Zalgiris – news Sport – Sports news, results and broadcasting schedule

It was a goal celebration at Aspmyra when Bodø/Glimt took on Zalgiris. The Nordics did not give up until it was 5-0, and now a lot needs to be done for them not to play in the Champions League playoffs. – It’s Glimt at its best. We could have scored ten goals today. We got a nasty warning after one minute, but from there on we almost always have our foot on the gas. We are not keeping the speed limit today. It’s an insane achievement, says a clearly satisfied Kjetil Knutsen on VG’s broadcast after the match. Glimt profile Amahl Pellegrino agrees with his boss. – We could have punished them even harder, but when you win 5-0, you have to be satisfied, he says. It was Pellegrino who was in focus in the first half. The attacking player first earned a penalty kick after being brought down in the opponent’s box. VAR first had to take a look at the situation, but in the end the decision was changed to a penalty kick. Hugo Vetlesen put the ball safely into the goal. A few minutes later, Pellegrino was on the move again. This time Ulrik Saltnes played him through with a beautiful pass, and he was safe alone with the goalkeeper. Thus it was 2-0 for the northerners. – He sees that I’m sticking in the back room. It’s a nice pass, so it’s finished, says Pellegrino. But Glimt wasn’t finished. In the second half, it was sometimes very hectic in front of Zalgiris’ goal, and debutant Lars-Jørgen Salvesen presented himself with a goal after having the ball served to Pellegrino. At the very end of the match, Runar Espejord made it 5-0 after a cruel pass from Petar Mamic. Thus, it smells like a playoff for Glimt. Bodø/Glimt go to Lithuania for the return match on 9 August. If they advance, they will face either Ludogorets or Dynamo Zagreb. The latter won the first match 2-1, and are thus the favorites to meet Glimt in the playoffs. A possible playoff is the last step before the group stage in the Champions League.
