A yellow warning has been issued for strong gusts of wind in southern Norway on Wednesday. The storm will eventually move north and hit both central and northern Norway. In Bodø, winds of up to 23 meters per second are reported on Thursday. Should this happen, it is likely to be the strongest measured wind in several years at the measuring station in Bodø. Wind strength above 24.5 meters per second corresponds to a full storm. Wind gusts are reported to reach 34 meters per second. – Tomorrow, the low pressure will enter southern Norway, but the forecasts are uncertain, says meteorologist Eldbjørg Moxnes. She explains that the low pressure that is now expected is not a classic low pressure. This leads to uncertainty when the weather is to be reported. They are then transported across the Atlantic Ocean and move towards us. Moxnes says that the low pressure that is now expected will form just off the coast of Western Norway. This means that the meteorologists have few forecasts to base their warnings on, as the low pressure is completely fresh. A lot of uncertainty – No danger warning has yet been issued for Northern Norway when there is so much uncertainty surrounding the warning, explains Moxnes. – Is it the case that the notifications are rather slightly above what can be expected, as a kind of warning? – No, what is published as forecasts and what we warn of danger alerts, is what we consider most likely.
