On 18 October 2023, a German woman (24) was found dead in the mountains in Tynset in Østerdalen. According to the police, the woman was killed around 3 or 4 October. She was reported missing by her family on 10 October when she did not return home after a mobile home holiday with her boyfriend in Scandinavia. On October 17, her roommate, a German man (29), was arrested by German police. He led the police to the scene of the discovery. The German 29-year-old was found dead in the detention cell on March 8, according to the German news agency DPA. The public prosecutor in Duirsburg has opened an investigation of the murder.
