The emergency services are leaving the scene. The fire brigade and police moved out last night when there was a gas leak at one of the factories. It leaked hydrogen chloride, which can be potentially toxic and explosive. No people are injured. The police reported early on that there was a favorable wind direction and no danger to the population. The leak was from the VCM factory. This is one of two factories INOVYN Norge has in Rafnes. The fire service worked together with Rafne’s industrial protection on site. It was the industry that notified about the leak. Rafnes is a large industrial area in Bamble in Telemark.
