One person has been found dead after a house fire at Bleikemyr in Haugesund in Rogaland on Sunday. – Smoke divers have discovered one dead person in the house. This person has not been identified. It could be one of those who live at the address, but we won’t know that until the person in question is identified, says operations manager in the police, Helene Strand to news. The police are now working to notify relatives. – The other person registered at the address has been accounted for, he was away, says Strand. The fire is now out. – The fire brigade is carrying out extinguishing operations and will remain on the scene for a while longer, says Strand. We sent out resources, and those who arrived were met with a lot of smoke and flames coming out of the window, says duty leader Svein Nesse at Rogaland fire and rescue. The flames were coming out of the windows on the second floor of the home. The extinguishing work lasted around one hour, according to Nesse. The fire service heard that a person might be inside the house, and immediately prioritized lifesaving when the person was found. – We received a report of suspicion that a person could be in the house, and we got that confirmed, says Nesse. It was initially unknown whether there were people in the house. Two people are registered at the address. – We have not been able to make contact with the two people who are registered. But we don’t know if they are at home or out on something, operations manager Helene Strand told news around 12.40.
