July 10, 2022 at 19:58 Molde turned to a crushing victory – took over the top of the table Molde rose from an early cold shower and humiliated Tromsø with 5-1 at home in the Eliteserien on Sunday. Leading talent David Fofana scored two goals. The victory means that Molde climbs to the top of the table past Lillestrøm after the yellow-clad loss to Viking on Sunday. Molde has long hunted behind, but “finally” Erling Moe’s men were able to climb to the top. However, the victory did not come easily. The blue-clad ended up at home before they woke up. After seven minutes, Eric Kitolano beat the Tromsø residents in the lead with a ground crawler from outside the penalty area. Former TIL goalkeeper Jacob Karlstrøm had no chance. However, the joy did not last long. First Erling Knudtzon equalized after 16 minutes, before Kristoffer Haugen had to stand all alone on the back post and hammer in the lead goal for Molde. In overtime in the first half, David Fofana made it 3-1, before the same man increased the quarter after the break. Markus André Kaasa put on 5-1 shortly afterwards. Molde could have scored more goals, but in the end the Romsdalians controlled the victory at home. Molde will be visited by Haugesund next round, while Tromsø will meet Strømsgodset away. (NTB)
