The arrest took place in connection with a police operation in Tyresö outside Stockholm. – The case concerns violent Islamist extremism, where the Security Police also see connections to serious organized crime, says the statement from the Swedish Security Police. The security police and Swedish police authorities must have been working on the case for a long time. Around 3.50pm on Thursday, the newspapers Aftonbladet and Expressen reported that several arrests had been made in connection with the action. It was not until around 5.20 pm that the arrests were confirmed by the Swedish security police.
