He lived to be 74 years old. Folkvord died on Friday afternoon and was traveling in Stockholm in connection with a book project about Kurdistan and Palestine. Folkvord was born in Levanger in Trøndelag. He entered politics in the 60s, and from 1990 to 1997 he was deputy leader of the Workers’ Communist Party (AKP). He has also been a city council member in Oslo for the Rød Valgallianse, which later became the Rødt party together with the AKP. The Rødt politician was the first to get RV into the Storting, where he was a parliamentary representative from 1993 to 1997.
