6 December 2023 at 09:13 Former Labor minister Grete Knudsen has died Former minister and parliamentary representative Grete Knudsen has died, aged 83. Daughter Gitte Knudsen confirms this to news. The former Labor leader died on the night of Tuesday 5 December. Knudsen was a parliamentary representative for Hordaland in the years 1981–2001. She was Minister of Social Affairs in 1992–1994, Minister of Trade 1994–1996 and Minister of Industry 1996–1997 and 2000–2001. She particularly distinguished herself as trade minister when she led the negotiations on Norwegian EU membership. Knudsen was born on 13 October 1940 in Bergen.
