11 February 2023 at 11:56 Former industry minister Odd Eriksen has died Former industry minister Odd Eriksen died on Saturday night after a long illness, reports Avisa Nordland. He lived to be 67 years old. Eriksen left behind his son Mads Daniel Bjørkås, daughter Maia Eriksen and three grandchildren. – We are both incredibly proud of him and everything he has done for the community and our future. We have been like that all our lives, says the son to Avisa Nordland. Eriksen was formerly the leader of the Nordland Labor Party and minister of industry from 2005 to 2006. He became known throughout the country when he helped to overpower the hijacker of a Kato Air plane in 2004, and thus prevented the plane from crashing near Bodø. Jens Stoltenberg wrote on Facebook that Eriksen will be deeply missed. – The brave man from the north is dead. Odd Eriksen always looked ahead. He was involved in many important political decisions that shaped our country. Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre also says that he sends warm thoughts to Eriksen’s immediate family.
