The company is located in three places in Nordland, and it can be challenging to create a social community. The Rana company decided to do something about it. She thinks it is a great measure to save in a joint spot. Henriette Skaret (25) is looking forward to a trip to Portugal in September. – Such gatherings are great way to get a face to the names of colleagues working elsewhere. Photo: Frank Nygård / news – It is a very large company with many employees to relate to, and I have not been able to meet all my colleagues. Joint trips and social gatherings are good opportunities to get to know new people better. And you get to know people in a different way than at work, she thinks. – It won’t be as formal, she says. To Portugal All 300 employees cannot travel at the same time. The first pool will be traveling in early May, while the next group will go on a trip in June. The last two two trips will be arranged in September. Then it is Skaret’s turn to join the world. This year’s trip goes to Portugal, and the holiday destination Cascais outside Lisbon. – I have heard a number of employees who mimic back to previous welfare trips. There have only been positive experiences, I am excited to join, says Skaret. Henriette Skaret is pleased to work in a company that focuses on its employees. Photo: Frank Nygård / news pays in the splice team that the election fell on Portugal was no accident. Momek conducted a vote with three different destinations. Portugal got 70 percent of the vote. This is what the leader of Momek welfare, Ruben Solheim says. – We invite the employees on tour about every three years. After three years, 300 employees have saved NOK 4.2 million. And then the company posts the same. It will be a pretty big travel box, he notes. Solheim has worked in the company for almost 25 years and was starting the welfare society. The leader of Momek welfare, Ruben Solheim, is concerned that there will be a good social community in the company. Photo: Frank Nygård / news – We worked a lot and would like to travel with colleagues. Then we signed an agreement with the employer for a joint splice team, and a joint savings account where the company would pay as much as the employees, he says. He emphasizes that welfare trips do not just go abroad. There are also trips and local arrangements in the immediate area. The employees who participate in foreign tours also pay a larger deductible. For local events there is lower or no deductible. – We want to make it as fair as possible, says Solheim. – Social is important employers will often try to create good working environments and well -being and especially if they are in places where it can be difficult to recruit new ones, explains Jan Ketil Arnulf, a professor of the Department of Management and Organization at BI Norwegian Business School. – For all employers, it is important to find a balance between environmental measures and wage levels. All companies must balance well-being measures against pure pay conditions, but it can be less important if you can pay a lot and have a short distance to big city benefits, says Arnulf. There may be several reasons why companies do this, according to the professor. – Companies must invest in their own culture because it is not enough with pure employment contracts. All organizations must do things to shape the values and cultural features needed to meet the company’s challenges. Jan Ketil Arnulf, BI professor-There is no doubt that the social in the workplace is important. At the same time, the professor believes that such schemes as Momek have an unfortunate side. – There has been a lot of trouble around it with class trips in schools. That’s what everyone should be able to afford. There may be some employees who have a greater need to keep this money themselves. We live a third of our waking life at work. Arnulf thinks it’s nice that people have a community, as long as everyone is involved in it. – Standing out of work can be dangerous to health. There is no doubt that the social there is important, says Arnulf. The industrial company Momek AS produces, among other things, advanced machining and production for the oil and gas industry, and exports a good part of its production to the EU.
