The new double-track express line cuts the journey time in half from 22 to eleven minutes, and connects living and working areas more closely. The journey time will also be shorter between the Østfold towns and the capital. The official opening is on Monday 12 December when HM the King cuts the cord and opens the Follobanen in Oslo S. The King, the Crown Prince, the Prime Minister and the Minister of Transport are present at the commemoration, which is held in both Oslo and Ski.
