The plane from the Malawi Defense Force disappeared from radar after it left the country’s capital, Lilongwe, on Monday. It is the president’s office in the country which itself confirms that the plane has disappeared, the BBC reports. Maravipost writes that the vice-president was on his way to Mzuzu, but that he did not land as expected. – I can confirm that the plane did not land in Mzuzu, and the matter is being investigated, says Joseph Moyo, airport commander at Mzuzu airport to the newspaper. The plane should have taken off at around 10 o’clock local time, but at 3:45 p.m. there was still no communication with, or trace of, the plane, reports the newspaper.
