According to local media, the fire service was first notified of the fire at 20.45. 20 people must be evacuated. The Terfner tunnel has double track and is approved for speeds of up to 220 km/h. Fire crews are in place and heading into the tunnel to evacuate the passengers on the train, which is said to have been heading north to Hamburg and then Amsterdam. According to Tiroler Tageszeitung, the fire service has entered the tunnel, and 20 people have already been evacuated.
