Fire in bus closed E6 in Oslo – Latest news – news

A scheduled bus caught fire on the E6 at Mortensrud in Oslo on the night of Sunday. The road was closed for around three hours before it reopened. The police first reported the fire at 1.17am. The bus then caught fire and there was heavy smoke in the area. The entire E6 was closed out of Oslo in the southbound direction, while the northbound direction towards Oslo was restricted to one lane. The fire was extinguished just over 20 minutes later, but the road remained closed while clearance and recovery work took place. Just after 4 o’clock the bus was recovered and the road was reopened in both directions. The fire started when the driver was about to park the bus. There were no passengers on board, and the bus driver evacuated himself and escaped the situation safely. – It is too early to say anything about the cause of the fire. The bus is almost burnt out, and it will be examined with the aim of identifying the cause of the fire. (NTB)
