Fire in barn in Vågå with 200 sheep – news Innlandet – Local news, TV and radio

The operational building is located close to Rv 15 between Vågåmo and Lom, a little north of the center of Vågåmo. It caught fire very quickly. The fire brigade was unable to save the barn, but was able to prevent the fire from spreading. Fire crews from both Vågå and the neighboring municipalities of Sel and Lom have moved out. Operations manager Sidsel Svarstad at the police in Innlandet, tells news that they do not now know how many animals have burned inside. Ambulances are also on the scene. – It is because some people in the city have inhaled smoke, so they need to be seen by health personnel, says Sidsel Svarstad. Animals transported to neighboring farms Many volunteers have come to Vågå to help during the fire. Our reporter on the spot reports that the surviving sheep and lambs have been taken over to the neighboring farm, and driven away to other barns where they can be. The fire thus occurred while most of the ewes had lambed, but since it is so late spring in the mountain villages, they had not been released on the ground yet.
