17 August 2024 at 23:02 Austrians won Eurovision Young Musicians Violinist Leonhard Baumgartner (17) from Austria won one of the world’s most important music competitions, Eurovision Young Musicians 2024. The final was a collaboration between news and EBU (The European Broadcasting Union), and was broadcast from Stormen Konserthus in Bodø on NRK1 and in ten other European countries. 11 of the world’s best young soloists performed their pieces on stage tonight together with Kork. Baumgartner performed Henri Vieuxtemps: Violin Concerto No. 5, and impressed both the audience and the jury, which was led by Norwegian Tabita Berglund. 20-year-old Sebastian Egebakken Svenøy from Oslo represented Norway, and excelled on stage as the first participant, but unfortunately did not get a podium place.
