28 December 2023 at 08:14 FHI expects a peak in the flu outbreak around New Year’s Eve The peak of the flu outbreak is approaching, the Norwegian Institute of Public Health (FHI) believes. They believe that the peak of the infection curve is reached around the New Year celebrations. The outbreak started at the crossing point between weeks 49 and 50. Since then there has been increasing and significant flu activity, writes FHI. – The proportion of positive flu samples among those tested increased markedly from 9 per cent in week 49 to 12 per cent in week 50, and less sharply further to 13 per cent in week 51. It is mainly influenza virus A that is detected, says the FHI’s weekly report. (NTB)
