Now the father has been charged. The father is charged under section 288 of the Criminal Code, which is for having failed to provide help to someone in a helpless state. According to the indictment, the father allegedly failed to contact the healthcare system for supervision and assessment of the extent of the child’s injuries, despite knowing that his son had fallen out of the window. The child must have first fallen 3.5 meters before he hit the rear window of a car parked under the window. The window of the car broke, and the child fell further from the car and onto the asphalted ground. In total, the height from the window of the home to the ground is approx. 5 meters. The man’s defender, Knut Lerum, has no comment on the case at this time. The case will be heard over two days in Sør-Rogaland district court at the beginning of August.
