5 October 2022 at 12:05 F-35 aircraft have moved out of the emergency base at Evenes Marius Vågenes Villanger, at the Norwegian Armed Forces’ operational headquarters, confirms to news that there is a routine movement of F-35 aircraft from Evenes’s QRA emergency today. – It is a completely routine assignment. We do this all year round to have control over what happens in our local areas, says Villanger to news. Norway solves the QRA (Quick Reaction Alert) on behalf of NATO. The mission means that Norway has two F-35s on standby 24/7. The fighter planes find the unknown planes, and identify and document them. The F-35 will also prevent aircraft from illegally entering Norwegian airspace, it says on the Norwegian Armed Forces’ website. If an unknown aircraft approaches Norwegian and NATO airspace, the F-35 moves out from Evenes and is in the air within 15 minutes.
