It is an emergency, says police chief Muhammed Ljaz Khan to AFP. – Part of the building has collapsed and we believe that several people are under there, says police official Sikandar Khan. The explosion occurred during the afternoon prayer at around 11:30 local time. Pakistan’s former prime minister Imran Khan condemned the attack, which he called a suicide attack carried out by terrorists. The last time there was a major explosion in Peshawar was in March last year, when a suicide attack on a Shiite mosque in the city left 56 people dead.
