The police received a report at 02.14 on Friday night about a powerful explosion in Storskogen in Sundbyberg. The explosion occurred at an apartment building in the suburbs, one mile north of Stockholm. Major material damage No one should be injured in the explosion, but there is major material damage to the building. Since the police started keeping statistics in 2018, they have not had a year with larger seizures and more explosions than last year. During 2023, 149 explosions were registered and over ten tonnes of explosives were seized by Swedish police, according to NTB. According to the police, half of the explosions were carried out with dynamite from the business market. On 1 January, the punishment was toughened for offenses related to explosives.
