11 June 2024 at 12:56 Torrential rain is expected in Telemark – danger of closed roads The Meteorological Institute warns of torrential rain in Agder, parts of Telemark and parts of Rogaland. A yellow warning has been issued from 15:00 on Tuesday afternoon until 21:00. The weather can change quickly. There will be heavy rain showers, but local variations in intensity and amount. There is a risk of stormwater in densely built-up areas, local floods, stream and river course changes, as well as landslides and flash floods where the rain showers hit, reports the Meteorological Institute. In some places, there may be difficult driving conditions due to stormwater and the risk of hydroplaning, and roads may be closed. The recommendations from the Meteorological Institute are to keep up-to-date on the development of the weather and the weather forecast. They also ask that people stay away from steep slopes and streams with high water flow, and avoid unnecessary traffic in exposed areas. “Adapt your speed and drive according to the conditions. Do not drive a car in water deeper than 30 centimetres,” they warn.
