Expect a small storm in the west and a snowpack in the mountains – news Vestland

– On the mountain tops, there can be a transient full storm, says state meteorologist Susana Reuder. During the day, strong winds are expected in western Norway, which can be felt along the coast and in the mountains in southern Norway. The reason is wind coming in from the south-east which will increase throughout the day. Northern parts of Rogaland, Vestland county, Møre and Romsdal and southern parts of Trøndelag will feel the wind. But the meteorologist promises that much of the wind will lie until the evening. Snow front to the mountains Snow fronts and wind are expected on the mountain passes and the meteorologist has sent out a yellow danger warning for the snow conditions. The notice will also be valid on Monday. The snow limit is between 800 and 1200 metres, says Reuder. The most wind and snow is expected in the area around Langfjella and Jotunheimen. – There will be reduced visibility and it can be quite difficult driving conditions, says Reuder. Keep the leisure boat to the dock The meteorologist warns that the wind will lead to high waves along the coast. At the Central Rescue Centre, they are always ready to move out, but rescue manager Cecilie Øversveen on duty hopes that people along the coast do not take unnecessary risks. – Today, I think those with leisure boats should stay at home, she says. She reminds people to plan well for the weather if they are thinking of going on a trip. FOKK: The meteorologists warn about snowpack in the mountains in southern Norway. It is too early to say whether any of the mountain crossings will be closed due to wind and poor visibility. He hopes those traveling along the road remember to wear winter shoes and drive according to the conditions. – We’re crossing our fingers that the wind doesn’t create too many curls, he says.
