26 February 2023 at 01:22 Evacuating the entire center of Kragerø All residents in the center of Kragerø must leave the city, the municipality has decided. The fire in the old wooden building is not under control. There is a great danger that it could spread further from the two houses which are now in flames. The houses that are burning are located close to conservation-grade wooden buildings. Mayor Grunde Wegar Knudsen tells news that all pubs in the center of Kragerø have been emptied. The center is cordoned off. 30 residents evacuated from houses in the city centre. 20 of them are accommodated at Kragerø sportell. On the municipality’s website, it is emphasized that none of the evacuees are allowed to move home tonight.
