The police start with the evacuation of cabins near the fire. – We try to get in touch with cabin owners, and see if there are people in the cabins. It’s burning well in the area, says operations manager at Sør-West police district Roger Litlatun. – We have made contact with some cottagers. I don’t have a complete overview of how many people are in their cabins, says duty fire chief in Rogaland fire and rescue Tom Meyer. It is blowing in the area with a wind strength that varies from 7-8 m/s to 13-14 m/s. The terrain is dry.
