– It’s great fun when Hollywood knocks on the door and is interested in something you have created, says Espen von Ibenfeldt. Last year he was behind the script for the cinema success «Nr. 24 »About the opponent Gunnar Sønsteby no Hollywood company Kemb Productions has bought Ibenfeldt’s newest script. This time it is the serial murderer Arnfinn Nesset that will be portrayed, and that for an international audience. Nesset did not admit the criminal trial during the trial in 1983. In 1983, Nesset was convicted of killing 22 of the residents of the nursing home. In police, he confessed to killing the patients with the drug curacit. Before the trial started, he withdrew the confession. He was nevertheless sentenced to the law’s most severe punishment: 21 years in prison and ten years of security. The woman behind the killing will not be the tension in the series, says Ibenfeldt. -It’s not a “Whodunit” series, but rather a “what did they do it” and “How did they do it,” says the screenwriter. Ibenfeldt says that he has developed the script in collaboration with Fredrik Horn Akselsen, who in 2020 created the documentary “The Series Murder in Orkdal” for TV 2. They have interviewed relevant actors in the case, and gone through case reports, interrogation reports and psychiatry reports. – In addition, my mother worked for Nesset at Orkanger as a newly trained nurse, says Ibenfeldt. news has been in contact with Nesset’s defender, Morten Gunnes. He says that Nesset does not want to comment that it can be made a TV series about him. – But he had hoped he would have peace now, says Gunnes. Gunnes stumbled in the way the police interrogated Nesset when they were investigating the case. They stand among others behind the movie “Ray” from 2004 where Jamie Foxx won Oscar for best shoe player. “They have been in the industry for many years, know it very well and have contacts at the highest level in Hollywood,” says Ibenfeldt. He says the company will now find the right distributor for the project. So far, the plan is for the series to consist of six episodes of one hour. When the series can be possible to see is not yet clear. – It’s impossible to say. First we have to get the right team in place, says Ibenfeldt. He believes the story of Arnfinn Nesset fits well with the flow meter tests. -Neither the drivers nor the power meter tests get enough of “True Crime”-based stories that the heinous history of Arnfinn Nesset. – So purely thematically, I think it’s like Hollywood’s hand, American production and streaming market in 2025 and years to come. At the same time, it is far from a bought script for a finished TV series, points out Slettemark. – The icy reality is that even if the script was bought, it is very far away that the series is produced and can be seen by an audience. – That someone has paid money for a script does not need to mean that it will be any of it. Arnfinn Nesset has since 2004 been a free man and lives with a new name for secret address. Only last year did he speak for the first time with the press.
