Espen Barth Eide is not running for re-election to the Storting – news Norway – Overview of news from different parts of the country

Eide states on Facebook that he will not run for re-election for the Oslo Labor Party in the next parliamentary term. “I am very grateful that I have been trusted for two periods, and I have greatly benefited from the experience of the Storting in my work as a minister”, he writes. On the other hand, he emphasizes that he would like to continue as minister “if the party wants it”. “At the same time, the Oslo Labor Party has a number of talents who should now be able to try themselves in key political positions”, he writes further. Espen Barth Eide was first elected to the Storting in 2017 for the Oslo Labor Party, but has been a minister on several occasions in the past. In the Stoltenberg government, Eide was both Minister of Defense and Minister of Foreign Affairs.
