Errors in the health platform have consequences for at least four patients – news Møre og Romsdal – Local news, TV and radio

Since Monday, Helse Møre og Romsdal has been working to find out what consequences the error in the health platform has had for the patients. A total of 291 patients have dropped out of the lists for follow-up. – Now avi has roughly sorted patients who we see have suspicious findings or diagnoses that require them to enter a course and who have been waiting a long time. Cancer or other serious conditions may, for example, be suspected, says specialist director Erik Solligård at Helse Møre og Romsdal. At least one patient’s health has worsened The survey so far shows that at least one patient’s health situation has worsened because the person concerned has disappeared from the follow-up lists. The Norwegian Health Insurance Corporation calls this forecast loss. – So far we see that four patients have not received the follow-up they are entitled to, and for one of them this has probably resulted in a loss of prognosis, says Solligård. Mapping not finished But Helse Møre og Romsdal and the Helseplattforma have not quite finished the mapping yet. They are still looking for patients who have not received the follow-up they are entitled to. – This is a very serious situation which we take very seriously. We have seen preparedness internally, and are mobilizing extra health personnel and administrative resources who are working to map the consequences of the error. The aim is for us to finish the mapping as soon as possible and preferably within this week, says Solligård. Did not receive follow-up On Tuesday, it became known that almost 300 patients in Møre and Romsdal were affected by this error in the Health platform. The patients have been out of the system since the health company adopted the Health platform in April. These are patients who should be on a list for follow-up of their illnesses. But that didn’t happen. They were off the list. According to what news knows, the patients fell off the lists in April and this was not discovered until half a year later. The National Audit Office slaughtered the Health Platform This happens only a few days after the National Audit Office presented a report with strong criticism of the Health Platform. The report states, among other things, that the introduction of the Health Platform has threatened patient safety, reduced the efficiency of patient treatment and the system has become more expensive than expected. – Very disturbing The patient ombudsman in Møre og Romsdal, Hanne Haavde Stenseth, is reacting very strongly to what has happened. – It is very worrying that such errors still occur and that it will take so long before errors are discovered. Hanne Hovde Stenseth is now questioning whether the Health Platform breaks the laws that govern the healthcare system. – I expect that the report from the National Audit Office will be followed up. We MUST have a system that ensures that patients have their rights fulfilled and that it is safe to be a patient, says Hove Stenseth. Hanne Hovde Stenseth is a patient agent in Møre and Romsdal. It is the attending physician who will make contact and this must happen within a short time. Published 31.10.2024, at 13.57 Updated 31/10/2024, at 14.10
