– Imagine that we have a completely normal training session, but suddenly the world’s best footballer is here. We were quite starstruck, says Oliver Ellingsen. In this very hall at Bryne, Erling Braut Haaland has put in countless hours to become one of the world’s best footballers. And perhaps there is a new Haaland in this very hall this Wednesday. This is where the most enthusiastic children at Bryne spend some of the summer afternoons. But what was supposed to be a completely normal football leisure training session in Jærhallen, became something completely different. The children in Jærhallen were relatively surprised when Erling Braut Haaland himself entered the hall. – Do you like the hall, don’t you? Because when the training started, the hero and Bryne boy Erling Braut Haaland came through the doors. – Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand, all the children shout in unison. – Do you like the hall, don’t you? Haaland asks. – Yes, shout the children in unison. The children at football training at Bryne were reasonably shocked when a newly minted triple champion entered the doors of Jærhallen. It was great for the children in Jærhallen that Erling Braut Haaland himself came to visit. Both with football and the social side. I’ve been here since I was a little brat. The hall has made me a good footballer and the person I am, he says. The hall means a lot to Haaland – What is it like to enter the hall and be welcomed in this way? – It’s nice. The hall means a lot to me and to open it in a way is very big. I’m enjoying myself, and it’s always nice to be in the hall, he says. It was a happy Haaland who met several children at football training in Bryne on Wednesday afternoon. A hall which, because of Haaland, has had its own “Drylevegg” and a large picture of Haaland on the wall. – The picture on the wall here shows that anything is possible. A boy from Bryne can win the triple. It shows that it is possible for others too, he says. Erling Braut Haaland adorns the wall of the old dairy in the center of Bryne. Of course, Haaland also had to press and “dribble” the ball into the goal. Photo: Maja Mathisen / news The town of Bryne is also adorned with several paintings by Haaland in the cityscape. This is exactly what he was asked about during the visit. Haaland had to admit that it was a bit big. – I feel proud when I see the big painting. I really appreciate it, and it shows that I’m doing something right, he says. Haaland was incorporated as an honorary member of Bryne FK during the visit to Jærhallen. Here together with Reidar B.
