At 20.50 a fire was reported in a detached house in Øygarden municipality, where the house has fully caught fire. West police district reported that there should be no people in the house. The house is located in Geitvika, close to the municipal center Straume on Sotra. Four people are registered as living in the house. The fire service has been in contact with the owner, and there is no suspicion that anyone is missing from the home. At 21.15 the fire service reported that they had started extinguishing the fire, and the police were evacuating the nearest neighboring houses. – Around 20 people have been evacuated. The house will burn down, says the police’s emergency manager Ole Marius Røttingen to news shortly before 10 p.m. long lasting. Fire two days ago There was a small fire two days ago in the one unit in the house which is now in full flames at Straume in Øygarden. This is what fire chief on duty Jarl Hestad told news. Therefore, the large detached house was now empty. According to news’s knowledge, the first outbreak of fire must have been in the laundry room. The fire service currently has no idea about the cause of the fire this evening. – This is a relatively dense single-family area, so the fire service has sent large resources there, says Hestad.
