Twitter CEO Elon Musk has created a public vote tonight in which he asks the following question: “Should I step down as head of Twitter? I will follow the results of this vote.” Just minutes after the poll was posted, more than a million users had voted. Now the number is over 15 million, and most of them vote against Musk. 57 percent think Musk should step down as boss. – As the expression says; be careful what you wish for, because you might get it, Musk wrote on Twitter, half an hour after voting began. The result of the vote will come at 12 noon today, Norwegian time. Controversy The surprising new twist is far from the first since Musk took over as Twitter boss at the end of October. He bought the site in April this year. At the latest yesterday, Musk had to restore the accounts of several journalists who had been banned. The reason for the ban was that the accounts had shared information about the millionaire’s private plane, writes Reuters. The journalists, who were from, among others, CNN, the Washington Post and the New York Times, have subsequently expressed concern about freedom of expression on the website. In the past, Musk has caused controversy by restoring the account of Donald Trump. This decision was also made through voting on Twitter. The World Cup final Last night, Elon Musk was one of the 90,000 who were present at the World Cup final in football in Qatar. “Couldn’t have asked for a better match. Amazingly played by Argentina and France!!!!”, Musk tweeted right after the game. In photos taken by a Reuters photographer, Musk is seen together with Jared Kushner, who is married to Ivanka Trump.
