Election results for the county council elections in Østfold after the by-election in Moss – news Oslo and Viken – Local news, TV and radio

On Monday evening, the votes will be counted in the by-election in the county council election in Østfold. The by-election became a reality because the Industrial and Business Party’s (INP) ballot papers were missing from a polling station in Moss on election day. Now the preliminary results show that the INP is likely to make a snap election in the by-election in Moss. This allows the party to secure the mandate they were seven votes away from taking in the ordinary election. It seems that the INP is taking this mandate from the Conservative Party. The preliminary results include the advance votes in Moss and the votes in the ordinary county council elections in the other Østfold municipalities. The votes from those who voted on election day have not yet been counted. This means that the situation can change. Polling stations for advance voting have been set up in Moss in recent weeks. The red-green parties Ap, Sp, SV, MDG and Rødt were joined by the INP and the Pensioners’ Party in an electoral technical collaboration. Together, the seven parties won 22 out of 43 mandates in the county council. They thus secured the then majority with a margin of one mandate. That is why there is a re-election The reason why there is now a re-election is due to human error. On election day, county electoral lists for the Industrial and Business Party were missing from one of the polling stations in Moss for seven hours. The ballot papers for the Industrial and Business Party are this time in place in the polling stations in Ryggehallen. The party therefore demanded that a by-election be held in Moss. On 4 October, the INP was heard by the Ministry of Local Government and Districts. Then the county council election in Moss was declared invalid.
