EL and IT Confederation on strike from Thursday – may affect EC viewing – news Norway – Overview of news from different parts of the country

Abelia from NHO and the employee organization El og It-forbundet from LO have negotiated the ICT agreement. The deadline to agree was midnight on Thursday night. Two hours into overtime, EL and IT Forbundet reported to the Riksmekleren that it was not possible to reach an agreement. This means there will be a strike from Thursday morning. EL and the IT union announced that the following will be taken out on strike: Geomatikk AS (60 people), GlobalConnect (29), Komplett (56), Onitio Norge (67), Onitio Solutions Norge (18), Telia (57) and TietoEVRY Norway (32). The strikers work, among other things, in customer service, development, installation, operation and maintenance of electronics and IT equipment. – We are striking for a decent salary for everyone in the collective agreement, raising the minimum wage and co-determination of emergency guards, says union secretary and head of EL and IT’s negotiation committee Geir Aasen. Before the mediation started, Aasen said that a strike can be felt in several ways. – If your Telia network were to go out right before the round of 16 in the soccer European Championship, it is conceivable that error correction would take longer, and that you would not reach customer service until after the referee has blown the match off, said Aasen.
